The level of water tightness offered by deck plates can vary, with pry-out deck plates being less watertight than screw-in waterproof ones. The most common sizes of deck plates are 3 inches, 4 inches, 6 inches, and 8 inches in diameter.
When it comes to materials, deck plates are often constructed from durable and inexpensive ABS plastic. However, for increased longevity, bronze or aluminum deck plates may be a better choice.
