Dinghy refers to many small boats. Oars, a mast and boom, or a low-horsepower outboard motor can power dinghies. These little boats are usually eight to 15 feet long.
They can go where larger boats couldn't because of their short draft. Many dinghies carry guests to land from larger vessels at anchor.
Dinghies have a limited weight and passenger capacity. One person can sail, row, or steer many of these miniature boats, which can carry eight people.
