Enter the pond and head left from the boat ramp area. Hug the left bank and enjoy the view. Soon, you’ll be in a narrow tributary of the water. The tributary is about 25 feet wide and easy to navigate.

Abundant Wildlife Encounters

The shallow waters hold bass and pickerel to see. Watch for eagles flying overhead. There are turtles in the area everywhere. Observe a fawn sleeping in the ferns there.

Cool, Clear Water and Red Foxes

The water in this area is so clear and refreshing. A red fox ran along the bank one day. This close encounter delighted every visitor too. It was quite the natural wildlife experience.

An Unexpected Capsizing Adventure (Delaware Fishing Spots)

This visit included less experienced kayakers. An attempt to take a picture went wrong. The result was a capsized kayak, as she learned. Screams led to more swimming and boats turning around.

A Chain Reaction of Swimmers

Her husband dove in to “save” her by going into the water now. The writer grabbed a downed tree nearby. The swift current pulled him under, though. This action close-lined him right off of his yak.

Laughter and a Refreshing Swim

His son’s laughter echoed across the water area. Everyone climbed onto shore to regroup and rest. They reentered the boats to head back to the park. The group had so much fun over all, it was quite memorable.

The writer’s daughter fears fish. Her screams arose from thinking one touched her leg. While heading back, a copperhead swam nearby. It was a good thing she fell in when she did back then.

The Perfect Fun-Filled Day

Despite mishaps, it was an amazing day and trip. Even on a weekday, many boats visited the pond. The back area is so beautiful to behold. The only drawback is the lack of restrooms. However, plan to make for a memory to share.
