The Alaska Pollock (Theragra chalcogramma) belongs to the class of ray-finned fishes (Actinopterygii), of the order of the cod (Gadiformes), the families cods and haddocks (Gadidae), and the genus Theragra. In French, it is called “Lieu de l’Alaska” and in Spanish “Colin de Alaska”. In the past, this fish was often confused with salmon.
